Group Leader - Oncology

Description

We are seeking an industry-experienced cancer biologist to lead a team of scientists responsible for advancing first-in-class therapeutic candidates targeting a novel set of antitumor targets involving biological energy regulation.

Responsibilities
  • Design, oversee, and execute critical and focused in vitro and in vivo studies, including biomarker studies, to support development of early potential Oncology drug candidates
  • Elucidate Oncology small molecule compounds’ novel mechanisms-of-action
  • Critically analyze data and communicate findings effectively to multidisciplinary team members, management, and external partners
  • Engage productively with existing and future industry and academic collaborators
  • Manage external study execution at contract research organizations and engage with extramural industry and academic collaborators

Qualifications

Essential Experience
  • PhD and Post-Doctoral training in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a
  • • 5-10 years of oncology-focused drug discovery experience in the biotech/pharma industry
  • Proven track record of contributing to successful & innovative drug development projects, including
  • assay development and model selection for in vitro and in vivo studies
  • Experience moving target-based screens to translational in vivo pharmacology and efficacy studies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Experience
  • Understanding of Cell and/or Tumor Metabolism strongly preferred
